Kindred Creatives Art and Literary Press, also known as KCALP, is hosting its first annual Texas Art and Literary Festival. KCALP, is a non-profit bookstore and literacy center whose mission is to promote the love of literacy, creativity and entrepreneurship for all. With the Texas Art and Literary Festival, KCALP aims to connect authors, readers, artists and publishing professionals together to empower diverse voices and creatives to inspire change through their words and art. The festival is free for the general public. Anyone interested in joining the festivities from outside of Texas are also welcome.

The Texas Art and Literary Festival also serves to commemorate the one year anniversary of the KCALP bookstore. KCALP was started by published author and former educator, Cicely Carr, in 2021. Since the bookstore first opened its doors, it’s been an uplifting space that showcases indie BIPOC authors and entrepreneurs. The creative space also offers workshops, poetry readings, networking events and many other influential programs for children and adults.
